Garden clearance and rubble, ready for turf
An extension, a skip on the drive or a garden left to grow wild for years: before a lawn can go down, the ground needs clearing. We include that in your quote.

What we clear
-
Overgrowth
Long grass, brambles and weeds cut back and removed.
-
Old lawn and roots
Lifted and taken away with the green waste.
-
Builders' leftovers
Brick, block and concrete pieces near the surface.
-
Gravel and membrane
Taken up so soil and turf can go back in.
How rubble is priced
Green waste such as old turf and weeds is part of the normal clearance. Builders' rubble is heavier and dearer to get rid of, which is why it has its own line. If more buried rubble turns up than expected, we'll pause, show you what we've found and agree the price with you first.
From cleared ground to lawn
Once it's clear, the job carries on like any other: soil loosened, topsoil added where needed, levelled and turfed. You end up with a finished lawn rather than a cleared patch waiting for the next step.
Questions people ask
Do I need to hire a skip?
Not usually. We take away the waste from the job as part of the work. Large amounts of rubble are included as a separate item on your quote.
Can you remove old artificial grass?
Yes. We lift it with any sand infill and base layer that needs to go, then prepare the soil for real turf.
